CNC Ported 3V Cylinder Heads
(CNC) Computer Numericaly Controlled Machining
Improved Performance Through Technology
Kostecki Engine Centre of Perth Western Australia, was the first Australian company to invest in the benefits of CNC Porting.
Their state of the art CNC facility offers complete 5 axis simultaneous machining, making the art of hand grinding, a thing of the past. CHI has worked closely with Australia's leading cylinder head porters and Kostecki Engine Centre, to bring to our customers the very best in CNC Ported Race cylinder heads for the customer wanting the very most from his small block Ford.
Benefits Of CNC Simultaneous 5 Axis:
- CNC machining produces ports and chambers to within tolerances of no more than .002".
- Surface finish can be changed dependant on fuel type.
- No bumps or irregular surface finishes that interrupt wet flow.
- Each port is the same cross section - so every cylinder can reach its true RPM potential.
- Each port is exactly the same Cfm - so every cylinder can reach the same power potential.
- Combustion chambers are exact in volume - so every cylinder has the same compression ratio.
- Unsurpassed repeatability from one cylinder head to another.
- CNC ported heads eliminate human error and variation from port to port that is commonly found in "Hand Porting".
- CNC machined piston and combustion chambers offer superior control over flame travel and a quench area, and allow easy and accurate duplication of reverse and positive domes.
Remember:
Repeatable ports and chambers produce repeatable power and torque curves. This is why you should consider KEC's Porting Program next time you are building or designing your ultimate 3V Cleveland or Windsor.
Due to ongoing port development we have to many CNC programs to list. We can however arrange a budget one pass CNC port job, where the majority of the ports will be CNC machined, but some areas may not clean up, or for the serious engine builder we have extra small intake and exhaust port castings that have enough material to allow the whole port to be finished by the CNC.
